Worship Opportunities at St. John

Altar Guild:

The members of the Altar Guild care for the sanctuary of the church and prepare it for each service. They volunteer on a rotational basis to take care of the altar linens and all the furnishings of the sanctuary and the Pastor’s sacristy. They also foster a better understanding of the liturgical heritages of the church.

Prayer Chain:

These are people who receive a list of persons and situations to keep in their prayers each week.

Ushers:

Ushers assist in keeping order for worship services. This traditional group was developed into the important role of welcoming worshipers, and are often the first to greet a guest. Ushers hand out bulletins, collect the offering, direct participants to communion, and attend to any additional needs of those attending worship. Volunteers work in teams on a rotational basis, approximately every 5 weeks.
