Ministry Opportunities at St. John

Our congregation recognizes the importance of reaching out to our community. Opportunities to volunteer for outreach activities arise throughout the year, and are published in the worship bulletins and on this web site’s ‘Calendar/Events page. In addition, our congregation participates on an ongoing basis in the following:

Stephen Ministry:

Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Our Stephen Ministers are congregation members with gifts for care-giving, who have been carefully selected and trained to serve in this role; caring Christian friends who listen, care, pray, support and encourage those who are faced with a crisis or difficulty. Stephen Ministers are children of God who will walk beside a person who is hurting.

If you’re interested in joining this caring and confidential ministry, or if you’d benefit from the support that a Stephen Minister can provided, please contact the Parish Nurse or Pastor.
