St. John Child Day Care & Development Center is committed to providing quality Christian child care for your child which will supplement and complement the care and nurturing you provide in your home. We provide a variety of learning experiences which will further the spiritual, emotional, social, cognitive and physical development of each individual child. Activities are planned which will encourage the child to explore, question, manipulate and create along with opportunities for self-expression, interaction with peers and free play.

As a development center we recognize that each child is an individual with certain needs. Our program is designed to meet those needs and to aid the child in his or her development.

With both our full and half (am only) day programs, we offer activities that utilize language development, self-concepts, storytime, music, art, social studies, math, science, fine and gross motor skills.

When enrolled at St. John Child Day Care & Development Center, your child will:

  • Have fun
  • Experience a Christian atmosphere
  • Be treated with respect
  •  Learn respect for others

St. John Child Day & Development Center was established in 1970. The low turn-over rate within our staff is one of the many reasons that you will be able to rely on us to provide consistent, quality care for your child.

With the increasing demand for quality child care, our goal is to meet that need. Our open door policy makes it convenient for you to visit our center at any time and we encourage you to do so. We are confident that you will like what you see. We look forward to meeting you.

SCRIP PROGRAM

You can now help support St. John Day Care on a monthly basis just by purchasing gift cards for the places that you shop at week in and week out.  Thousands of schools have used this fund-raising method to make money to supplement their revenue.

With Scrip fund-raising, Day Care families and church members simply do their regular shopping using gift cards from leading retailers. With each purchase, the Day Care would earn a rebate.  These gift cards also make great birthday and anniversary gifts.  There are many local grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, movie theaters, and department stores available such as: Piggly Wiggly, Sentry, Walgreens, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Kohl’s, Boston Store, Blockbuster, Barnes & Noble, Arby’s, Subway, Cousins, Speedway, BP and many, many more.

A complete list of participants that are part of the Scrip program is available in the Day Care Office.Order forms and envelopes are now available for you in the Narthex.

We will send in orders on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month and you may even want to have a standing order each month for those establishments that you know you will shop at on a regular basis.  You would simply plan to use your monthly gift cards to buy your gas or shop for groceries instead of using cash.

This provides convenience for you and the great feeling of knowing that you are helping to support the Day Care!!  Your check or cash must accompany your order.

If you would like more information, please call the Day Care office at 482-0554.

Miss Maria will be working on the letters Nn, Pp, Oo and Qq with her class. She is also planning a field trip for them in correlation to the letter Pp.
They will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and they will enjoy discussing the first days of Spring. As they look forward to Easter, Miss Maria has a special Easter Bible story planned. Their color of the month will be green and their shape of the month will be the shamrock.
Miss Lynn will work on the letters Nn, Oo, Pp, and Qq with her children. For the letter Pp, they will have a “P” party and all of the children will bring “P” foods to share with their friends. At the beginning of the month, after seeing Green Eggs and Ham the class will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday and they will make green eggs and ham for breakfast. They will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and they will be welcoming Spring. The last week of the month, they will be doing various Easter activities. Their color of the month will be green and the shape of the month will be the shamrock.
Miss Debbie and Miss Gina will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with their children by making some shamrock shakes and making a trap to catch the leprechaun. They will also make some shamrock people. They will read Dr. Seuss books as they celebrate his birthday. As they look towards the first day of spring, they will wonder if it will come in like a lion and they will do some of their own roaring. They will also make some yellow footprints, since their color of the month is yellow.
